Terms of Service
Last updated: January 18, 2026
Important: Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Veteran Tools. By using our service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Veteran Tools ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Veteran Tools.
2. Description of Service
Veteran Tools provides software tools to assist veterans with VA disability claims, including:
- Document upload and organization
- AI-powered document analysis and data extraction
- Personal statement and buddy letter generation
- Condition tracking and secondary condition identification
- Disability rating calculations
- Claim package organization
- Appeals guidance and resources
2.1 No Service Level Agreement
The Service is provided without any guaranteed uptime or availability. We do not offer a Service Level Agreement (SLA). While we strive to maintain reliable service, we do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
3. Important Disclaimers
⚠️ NOT LEGAL ADVICE
Veteran Tools does not provide legal advice. The information and tools provided are for informational and organizational purposes only. We are not attorneys, and nothing on this platform should be construed as legal advice. For legal matters related to your VA claim, consult with a qualified VA-accredited attorney or claims agent.
⚠️ NOT MEDICAL ADVICE
Veteran Tools does not provide medical advice. Any medical information displayed or generated by our service is for informational purposes only and should not be used for diagnosis or treatment. Always consult with qualified healthcare providers for medical decisions.
⚠️ NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE VA
Veteran Tools is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or any other government agency. Official VA information should be obtained directly from va.gov.
4. AI-Generated Content and Limitations
🤖 Understanding AI Limitations
Veteran Tools uses artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs) to process documents and generate content. You acknowledge and understand that:
- AI can make mistakes. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or misinterpretations.
- AI is not perfect. Document extraction may miss information, misread text, or incorrectly categorize data.
- Generated statements require review. All AI-generated personal statements, buddy letters, and other content should be carefully reviewed and edited by you before use.
- You are responsible for verification. You must verify all information, dates, facts, and claims before submitting anything to the VA.
- AI cannot replace professional judgment. AI tools supplement but do not replace the judgment of legal, medical, or claims professionals.
By using our AI-powered features, you accept that AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and assistant tool, not as a finished product ready for submission without your review and verification.
5. Limitation of Liability
💰 Liability Cap
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VETERAN TOOLS' TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO VETERAN TOOLS FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
If you have not paid anything for the Service (e.g., you only used free features such as the Letter Generator), our maximum liability to you is $0. By using our free services, you acknowledge and accept this limitation.
IN NO EVENT SHALL VETERAN TOOLS BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Denial of your VA claim or appeal
- Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
- Mistakes in document processing or data extraction
- Incorrect disability rating calculations or estimates
- Delays in your claim processing
- Any decisions made by the VA or other agencies
- Any damages resulting from your reliance on information provided by the Service
- Service interruptions, downtime, or data loss
These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if Veteran Tools has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Veteran Tools disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, you agree to first contact us at legal@veterantools.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
16.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
- Location: Arbitration shall take place in Cheyenne, Wyoming, or at another mutually agreed location. You may also participate by phone or video conference.
- Fees: Veteran Tools will pay all arbitration filing fees and arbitrator costs for claims under $10,000. For claims over $10,000, fees will be split according to AAA rules.
- Decision: The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.
16.3 Small Claims Exception
Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdictional limits.
16.4 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND VETERAN TOOLS AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.
16.5 Opt-Out of Arbitration
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement by sending written notice to legal@veterantools.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, address, email, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. 20. Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by Veteran Tools to be effective.

To Us: You may send legal notices to us at legal@veterantools.com. Notices are deemed received upon confirmed delivery.
22. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
