VA math can be hard to follow. Put your ratings in one place, see each step, and check the rate behind the estimate.

Educational estimate. This calculator does not determine eligibility or a VA award. Pairing and dependent inputs need your review against your decision and VA records.

No names, diagnoses or records needed. Your entries stay in this tab. Nothing is saved automatically. Download a workspace to reopen your inputs, or calculation text to keep a result.

Your ratings

Enter individual percentages from your decision letter. Use a paired group only when the condition qualifies. Upper extremities include arms and hands; lower extremities include legs and feet. Opposite sides of unrelated groups do not form a pair. This preview supports 50 conditions, including at most 16 qualifying bilateral conditions.

Check the payment rate

These are already-qualified dependent counts. Count qualified school children separately from children under 18. Use already-qualified unmarried children attending school full time. Confirm VA dependency status and any education-benefit overlap before including a school child. Check VA dependent requirements. Children unable to support themselves, special monthly compensation, offsets and back pay need separate review.

Know which rules and rates are in play

Includes standard 2024, 2025 and 2026 rate tables. The estimate date selects the table: each year’s rates start on December 1 of the preceding year. Source checked September 11, 2026. Dates from December 1, 2026 need a rate review; the calculator will leave the amount unavailable. Dates before December 1, 2023 have no payment table here. Dates before April 16, 2023 are also outside this bilateral-rule preview.
