Find local housing help

Start with a published contact. Ask what they offer, who they serve and what is available now.

This collection includes SSVF intake awards, agencies listed in HUD’s directory, and VA Community Resource and Referral Centers (CRRCs). A listing is not an available bed, voucher, accepted referral or eligibility decision.

How to use these contacts

SSVF supports low-income Veteran households experiencing or at risk of homelessness. HUD housing counseling serves the general public, not only Veterans. VA CRRCs help Veterans who are homeless or at risk navigate local services; ask about HUD-VASH and Grant and Per Diem (GPD) options. Not every center administers those programs.

Before sharing documents, ask: Do you serve my area and household? Is intake open? What services and language or remote options are available? Are there fees or a wait? What should I bring and what is my next step?

HUD foreclosure, eviction and homelessness counseling is free. Other fees must be disclosed and waived if unaffordable. SSVF funding, intake and CRRC placement capacity are unknown.
